Islamabad Section Chapter Mini Symposium



Established in the year 2000, the IEEE Islamabad section is dedicated to serve the community via technology. The section has more than 700 members including more than 100 senior members. It has 06 active technical chapters focused on different technological areas including Radio Frequency & Microwave, Computational Intelligence, Computer System, Robotics and Automation, Control System and Power & Energy. The section has a very active student body having footprint in different universities of Islamabad region. This student-centric extension of IEEE plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive environment where aspiring engineers can connect, collaborate, and engage in activities that enhance their academic and professional development. All the activities of the section are aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

An IEEE Region 10 Islamabad section chapter mini symposium was held on 8 th August 2024 at School of Electrical Engineering and computer science and National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. The purpose of the event was to share guidelines and best practices among the organizational units (OUs) of the Section. The event was composed of invited talks on section guidelines for chapters and societies, officer training on IEEE Vtools, IEEE OU Analytics, rebate and its requirements, membership development, best practices for chapters sustainability and collaboration with student branches & chapters. The talks were interactive. There was a networking session followed by the talks. Over 20 participants from various chapters have attended the event. This event offered a unique networking opportunity for attendees and is expected to inspire the chapters to engage in activities with renewed enthusiasm. It is expected that this symposium will fosters a sense of community and collective purpose among diverse groups, allowing for the exchange of innovative ideas and strategies. Additionally, it provides a platform for networking, building relationships, and strengthening the overall cohesion and effectiveness of the IEEE Islamabad Section. Last but not the least, by coordinating their efforts, the chapters can enhance their impact and achieve common goals more efficiently, thereby serving humanity via technology.
